Every job is quoted on the vehicle — size, film and the condition of the paint all move the number. We'll walk you through it on the call, and your quote is fixed before film is ordered.
How your car moves through the shop.

Your price from this page, exact film locked from real swatches. Fixed before film is ordered.

Full wash and clay. Handles, badges and trim come off — film goes under edges, not around them.

Wrapped panel by panel in a dust-controlled bay. Curves get heat and patience, not relief cuts.

Stretched zones re-heated, edges sealed, full-light inspection before you see it.

One shop. One standard.
Obsidian Wrapz is an independent wrap studio on Hancock Street in Point Loma. No franchise, no outsourcing — the person who quotes your car is the person who wraps it.
Every car on this page came out of our bay. Tell us what you want, and we'll talk you through what it takes and what it costs — before anything is ordered.

“Got my quote right off the site, car was done in four days, and the price they gave me was the price I paid. Satin still gets people stopping me at gas stations two months in.”
“Called around to like five shops and everyone wanted my number before giving me a real number back. These guys just told me the price. Car looked better picking it up than it did in the mockup.”
“They debadged everything and wrapped right up to every panel gap — I've looked for seams and genuinely can't find one. Wasn't the cheapest quote I got but it's the only one that looks factory.”
Straight answers.
What's this actually going to cost?
It comes down to three things: the size of the vehicle, the film you pick, and the condition of the paint underneath. Answer five quick questions and we'll call you with a real number for your car — not a “starting at” that never applies to anyone.
Will you tell me my car needs work first?
Sometimes, yes — and we'll say so before you pay anything. If your clear coat's peeling or the paint's chalky, vinyl won't bond right and we're not going to sell you something that fails in six months.
Can a wrap fix scratches or chipped paint?
No — vinyl follows what's underneath, it doesn't erase it. Light swirls disappear under the film, but a deep scratch or a dent still reads through. We'll tell you straight at inspection which one you're dealing with, and what prep would help.
How long does a wrap actually last?
Three to seven years, depending on the film and how it lives. Garage parking and hand washing get you the high end; all-day sun on a dark matte finish pushes you toward the low end. Better prep before install also buys you time.
What's the difference between gloss, satin and matte?
Gloss looks like fresh paint and hides swirls best. Satin has a soft sheen — the most popular finish we install. Matte is completely flat and makes body lines stand out, but it shows fingerprints and needs the most care. If you're torn, we bring swatches out to the car.
Just bought or leased the car — can I still wrap it?
Yes, on leased cars too, as long as it's back to stock at turn-in. If it's brand new, paint needs to cure first — usually 30–45 days — or the wrap can trap solvent underneath and bubble.
Will removing it damage my paint?
Not if the paint was healthy going in — that's exactly why we check it first. Bad prep or DIY removal is what causes damage, not the wrap itself.
Why book with you instead of the cheaper shop down the street?
Cheap wraps use cheap material and rush the prep — that's where bubbling and lifting start. We're one shop per market, indoor install bay, and everything's under warranty because we control the whole job.
